My WorkMy Writing,
and Me.

My name has an extra 'a' and I have an extroverted nature.

I'm a creative communicator with a love of sandwiches, clever copy, and interesting design.

I don't like spelling 'necessary' or thinking about how deep the ocean is. But I'm working on both of them.

Self Portraits

In this self-portrait series created in April 2020, I wanted to have a go at making a Dutch Golden Age-style portrait, using only items found in my house.

I was especially inspired by ‘Portrait of a Gentleman Wearing a Black Tunic and White Ruff’ by Michiel Jansz van Mierevelt (1567 - 1641). In my portrait I wanted the chiarascuro and almost glowing quality of the ruff in the original portrait painting to come across.

The ruff is made from 200 paper coffee filters, you can find the tutorial I followed here.
